Car & Trailer Lessons
Car and Trailer training can be provided for cat B licence holders who having passed their driving test after January 1997 do not hold entitlement to pull a trailer over 750 KG unless certain conditions are adhered to.
Training can be provided to enable to receive your additional entitlement after passing the DSA driving test. This Test is conducted at the DSA LGV/PCV centres in Livingston, Glasgow or Berwick.
The Driving test consists of:-
- An Eye sight check (Reading a number plate at 20 Metres).
- 5 Show me tell me questions.
- A Reversing exercise.
- Driving on various types of road and traffic conditions for over 1 hour.
- Un-coupling and then re-coupling the trailer and vehicle combination.
Mart drive will train you the safe in all aspects of towing and reversing the trailer, emphasising safe driving practice and economical driving skills.
This training can be over 1, 2, or 3 days depending on your previous experience and reversing skills. An initial driving and reversing assessment can be conducted over 2 hours in order to determine and agree the number of days training required.
Holding this licence will allow the driver to drive a rigid vehicle of 3.500 KG and pull a trailer with a gross weight OVER 750KG
