An early Chris MARSHALL goal settled Blackburn nerves in the local derby but a nasty looking injury to goalkeeper Gavin King just before the break lead to top scorer Andy McQuillan having to go between the sticks in the second half. However, one save and a couple of routine pieces of comfortable handling was sufficient to set the platform for late goals from substitutes Darren FLEMING and Ross DONNELLY to seal the points.
