Vics travelled back north after a well deserved win over Craigroyston.

They started the better and Rikki Gillespie forced home keeper Paul Tansey into action before Marc Walker sent a shot off target.

Craigroyston saw a neat passing move end with Dale Pennycuick slipping in Jason Young but his shot was deflected over, and the resultant corner was harmless as was another corner soon after when another Young was blocked by the away defence who then had keeper Josh Allardyce to thank when he saved well from Craig Anderson after a quick break by the home side.

Walker then fired across of the home goalmouth with no team mate on hand to convert but the same player opened the scoring when Lloyd Hester won the ball inside his own half before releasing Walker who cut into the Craigroyston box before firing into the far corner past Tansey.

Craigroyston were level almost immediately when Allardyce fouled Keith Buckley in going for a cross, and the forward got up to net the resultant penalty and they almost took the lead when a corner found Anderson but he headed wide, and Arbroath regained the lead before half time when Walker was fouled just outside the box, and Garry Warren's free kick was headed in by Kyle Findlater.

The visitors came out buoyed up after the break, and Tansey saved from Hester, and his defence also had to block a number of shots although Craigroyston almost levelled again when an on target Buckley header was blocked by a defender but it was mainly Vics who looked like scoring, and Tansey saved well from Gillespie then the striker saw a free kick beat the keeper but clip the crossbar on the way over before Connor Gray found Walker in space but he dragged his shot wide of the far post then Sam Clark forced another good save from Tansey.

The keeper was eventually beaten for a third time when a Clark cross found it's way through to Hester who shot home to clinch the win although they need a good save from Allardyce from an Andrew Fleming header to prevent a nervy few final minutes.
