New boys Craigroyston made the title favourites fight right to the end but still await their first win in the junior ranks.
Blackburn thought they had made the perfect start when Andy McQuillan netted from a Craig Young cross but the referee's whistle saved the home side the reprieve was short lived and in their next attack Aaron Gowans reached the byeline, and his low cross was swept past home keeper Paul Tansey by McQuillan.
The visitors were having the bulk of the possession but Craigroyston were defending well, and were given a great chance to get back into the match midway through the half when Craig Anderson found Kyle Boggie inside the area, and when he was fouled he got up to beat Gavin King from the resultant penalty to level the score.
Ross Nisbet saw a shot deflected just over as Craigroyston now has their tails up before Gowans shot just over for Blackburn as the game began to more open and end to end as the half ended all square.
McQuillan was booked for dissent early in the second half as he claimed for a penalty before Tansey touched over a Gary Calvey effort although a goal kick was awarded then McQuillan shot wide from close range.
Ollie Fleming headed a Boggie corner just wide for Craigroyston who then saw a Euan Rodgers almost find Jason Young but King was grateful to clutch the ball.
Craigroyston then had a double let off when sub Ross Williamson robbed a home defender, and his shot beat Tansey but rebounded from the bar, and the keeper did superbly well to beat away McQuillan's follow up but as in the first half Blackburn scored soon after when sub Daniel Campbell set up McQuillan who was brought down by a home defender, and visiting skipper Martin Lawrie netted from the spot for what proved to be the winner.
McQuillan had another attempt on goal as Blackburn looked to clinch the match, and they should have down so when Campbell did well to create a chance but shot against the legs of the keeper with team mates in a better position, and Craigroyston almost snatched a point in injury time but Chris Inglis header went agonisingly wide of the far post as Blackburn made it three wins from three.
