Scorned Chances.

In a game United missed as many chances as would have been enough to win several matches, especially in the first half they drew a blank. Our second league game of the season with the visit of Broxburn Athletic at Parkview. Only a minute gone and young Brian Ross set the tone for the rest of the game as he shot narrowly wide when in on goal past the huge frame of Maley in goal. Jamie Robertson was next up and he shot straight at the big keeper from seven yards. Fauldhouse were creating all the chances and Gary Fallon sent a delicate chipped shot inches over twenty minutes in. Sam Watson was having his usual composed game at the back keeping the Badgers forwards quiet, only a corner kick up to this point had caused an anxious moment. From a knock down Ross Donnelly thought he had broken the deadlock, his curling shot was hitting the target only to see Maley touch it on to the post and out. The Badgers first sight at goal was on thirty five minutes, Miller turning and volleying just over the bar...Half-time, Fauldhouse United 0 Broxburn Athletic 0.

The start of the second half and Jamie Robertson had a run and shot from inside the eighteen yard box and once again big Maley was alive to it putting it out for a corner kick. Broxburns Miller went close missing the upright by inches and another let off minutes later when the visitors number seven found space in the box and shot across Murphy in goal and smacking his shot off the post. In this good spell for the visitors they had another near miss as a free kick hit the top of the crossbar going in to the last quarter of an hour. Substitute Mark Aitken came on for Brian Ross minutes later and made an immediate impact and in fact could have won it for the House, first as his shot went narrowly over the crossbar and with two minutes to go as he burst in to the penalty box only to see his net bound shot brilliantly pushed out round the post by Maley for a corner kick...Full Time score, Fauldhouse United 0 Broxburn Athletic 0.
