Totally Eclipsed.
After Fridays major event the Fauldhouse players were still seeing stars as Sauchie came away with all three points. A continuation from last weeks disappointing second half performance saw United struggle against a well drilled Sauchie outfit. The first forty-five was a damp squib for both sides with few attempts on goal. One effort by Brian Ross from a free kick was inches over the crossbar, and for the away side Ashe found Kelly with a pass in the box but Scotts last ditch tackle cleared the danger...half time Fauldhouse United 0 Sauchie Jnrs. 0.
A bit more livlier start to the second period when Deans burst past a couple of tackles making his way towards the penalty box but couldn't put the home side in front shooting staight at keeper Harkness. Shortly after ten minutes in the best chance of the game so far, Brian Ross played in Robertson he rounded the big keeper but as the angle narrowed he hit the side netting. Fauldhouse paid for that miss minutes later, Ashe put in a fine cross and Cummings headed back across goal for King to slide the ball home at the far post...Fauldhouse 0 Sauchie Jnrs. 1. United suffered a blow when captain Kevin Ross had to go off with a head injury Sauchie took advantage and five minutes later were 2-0 up a ball half cleared only to the edge of the box saw man of the match Kelly thump it past Murphy in goal. The third goal came on the eightyfifth minute after some neat footwork from Ashe saw him win a tackle and sidestep a challenge to stoke it by the United keeper for a final score of Fauldhouse United 0 Sauchie Jnrs 3.
Our most inept performance of the season with everone to a man having an off day.
