Scott to be a worthy winner.

A crucial game for both sides in the fight to stay in the Superleague and a local derby thrown in for good measure. Early on Fauldhouse in form striker Jamie Robertson had a shot cleared off the line five minutes on the clock, then brought out a fine save by Watson resulting in a corner minutes later and from that very corner kick Robertson blasted in the opener with a superb strike after it was half cleared out to the edge of the box... 1-0 United on eight minutes. Going a goal down seemed to spur on the Dale who put Fauldhouse under a bit of pressure winning most of the ball and taking the game to the away side. It paid off when on twenty four minutes from a throw in to the House up at the corner flag Thistle broke down the left put in a cross for the home striker McLeod to bullet his header past Murphy in goal...1-1. Honours even for the rest of the half and both teams went in at half-time, Armadale Thistle 1 Fauldhouse United 1.

Not long  in the second half United looked to have earned a penalty after a great run into the eighteen yard box from Robertson but the referee adjudged not to be. The House were dominating the play bringing out save after save from a busy Watson in goal but not getting the breakthrough their play deserved. Mauchline had a half chance for Thistle mid-way through the second period but Murphy gathered the header easily. It was heavy going on a rain soaked pitch and the game looked to be heading for a draw with time running out. As the game was heading towards the last couple of minutes and with the House pressing for the winner United earned a corner kick, substitute Michael Gibsons great delivery was met by an onrushing Sam Scott amongst a ruck of players to power his header nestling in the back of the Dale net for a dramatic winner, much to the delight of the travelling House fans.  One minute later the ref blew for time up for a final score of... Armadale Thistle 1 Fauldhouse United 2.

A good win to get some distance for the House between all the bottom strugglers as United hopefully head up the table to possible safety.
