After a long spell of weather related call offs Thistle's home league fixture with Lochee Harp went ahead at the fourth time of asking, having already beaten their opponents at home once before in the campaign Thistle were looking to take all three points again. The game started at a frantic pace with both teams eager to get the victory and distance themselves from the foot of the table, recent signing Watson testing Brown's reactions in the Harp goal with a stinging drive from inside the box. And the Lochee goalkeeper was busy again moments later when an impressive Dempster run brought him through on goal but Brown once again had more than enough to deny, holding Dempster's weak effort. As the half progressed Lochee began to dominate with their psychical game overthrowing Kirrie's attempts to play football, C.Petrie with two shots in quick succession presenting their first real chances. Thistle keeper Knox was brought into action when I.Petrie gathered on the edge of the box, he beat his man comfortably before firing low only to see the keeper hold his strike. As the half drew to a close Harp were having the lime spell of possession without properly testing the Thistle rearguard.

Kirrie threatened straight from the restart with Watson again testing Brown, this time with a left footed drive towards his goal, before captain George drove from distance.  Thistle's best chance fell to Middleton on 60 minutes when Duffy crossed well from a corner, the big defender rose highest to narrowly head over the bar. Moments later Kirrie were made to rue their missed chances when G.Norrie played C.Petrie threw on goal and he dispatched confidently. Kirrie's confidence dropped after this and they fell further behind when G.Norrie again provided, this time playing in his name sake I.Norrie who slotted low past Knox. The win for Harp was confirmed when McDonald's corner was misjudged in defence allowing C.Petrie to grab his second of the game bringing his total to three goals against Thistle this season. Kirrie remain third bottom and are in GA Engineering Cup business next, facing Parkvale FC.
