Vics moved into 3rd place with this hard fought victory over Thornton Hibs. Vics took an early lead on 4 mins when a great Strachan cross was met by King who from 8 yards sent a side foot volley past the stranded Hibs keeper. Vics were having the better of the half and came close again on 22 mins when King set up Fertacz but his effort was cleared off the line to safety. Vics should have extended their lead a minute later when a good break from McKay down the right presented Mitchell with a chance but he sent his effort side of the target from 6 yards.

Vics came storming out in the second have and increased their lead on 52 mins when Fertacz sent a great shot from 22 yards past the helpless Hibs keeper and into the corner of the net. Fertacz had a chance a couple of mins later when Mitchell set him up but his effort from 10 yards hit the side netting. Hibs had a chance on 57 mins but Robbie was on hand to safe a header from 6 yards. Vics came back up field and Fertacz again had an attempt this time his over head kick from 8 yards was saved by the keeper. The match wasn't over  however and Robbie had to produce a good save from a Hibs free kick. Vics looked to have put the game beyond Hibs on 70 mins when Young drove along the 18 yards line past two players before smashing a low drive into the corner of the net. 3 mins later Hibs pulled a goal back when Thomson cut in from the left and sent an angled drive past the diving Robbie from 16 yards. The scoring wasn't over when on 86 mins Hibs scored a further goal when Gay sent and unstoppable shot past Robbie from 20 yards. This ensured a hectic finish to the match but Vics held out for a deserved victory.
