Report from Fauldhouse United

Hearty Performance.

The visit of league leaders Kelty Hearts saw the Jambos with the ball in our net with only one minute gone after a great save by Andy Murphy resulted in the goal being disallowed for offside. It was backs to the wall stuff as we got penned in our own half. On four minutes a brilliant point blank save from big Murph kept the Hearts at bay. Kelty forced a few corners next which United dealt with and kept the goal intact. After the initial onslaught Fauldhouse gradually got themselves back into the game, Drew Ramsay played in Ross Donnelly and his excellent shot was pushed out for a corner, Allison getting his fingertips to it. Kelty huffed and puffed but couldn't break the "House" down, some resolute defending in which Michael Browne was immense in midfield and Jordon Love was putting in some shift up front by himself saw a frustrated Kelty going in at the break.... Fauldhouse United 0 Kelty Hearts 0.

Everyone was expecting another flying start to the game as Kelty had done in the first forty-five but Fauldhouse had other ideas and were not going to be caught out again. The House restricted Kelty to the occasional chance which came their way with some sterling defending throughout the second half. There was not a lot to shout about in the final thirty minutes with United bottling up the midfield and Kelty a bit lacklustre up front, the game ran its course for a final score of Fauldhouse United 0 Kelty Hearts 0.

Not pretty but we had to stop the rot of three straight defeats, we showed we can dig in and defend as well as playing our usual flowing football... great job all round.
