Report from Kirriemuir Thistle

Kirrie Thistle's terrible run of form continued on Saturday going down 4-0 against a strong promotion chasing Luncarty. The visitors had the ball in the back of the net minutes into play but referee McCabe chalked Anderson's worldie of a volley off for offside. But the big frontman didn't have to wait long before he found the goal again. Knox was again tested by Anderson before the break but this time the keeper did well to hold his spinning effort. The second half saw things go from bad to worse for Thistle when on the hour they were reduced to ten men. Captain Robbie George shown red for bringing down Anderson who was through on goal. The Kirrie goal again came under attack in the seventieth minute Nicol smashing a volley goal-wards which was palmed away by Knox to Cook who's follow up effort found side netting. A rare journey up field from Thistle lead by Robb set Ogg running, and his drive was well dealt with by the retuning Mitchell in the Luncarty goal. The hosts were then reduced further Ogg the offender this time sent off for a second yellow, after a ball struck his arm. Luncarty got a third and fourth before the close, adding to Kirrie's misery and condemning them to their third league defeat at home. Kelly slotting past Knox on 85 and Cook finishing off the scoring in the 91 firing into the bottom left after being given time to set himself.
