Early Exit.
On our travels up to Dundee North End in this East of Scotland Cup tie we were second best and came away with a 2-0 defeat. As early on as eight minutes Andy Murphy came racing out his goal only for McComiskie to chip the goalie ...Dundee North End 1 Fauldhouse United 0, and up against it. Drew Ramsey tried a quick response for United but his low cross fired along the six yard box had no takers. McNaughton for North End brought out a good save from Andy Murphy on the half hour mark as they tried to increase their lead. With the first forty five drawing to a close another poor goal was conceded, a short pass back was pounced on by Njce who tucked it away with ease to go two in front...Half-Time Dundee N.E. 2 Fauldhouse Utd. 0.
Early on in the second half the House were getting a bit more of the ball but without troubling Kelly in the home goal. Fauldhouse could have got back in the game with quarter of an hour to go when the ref gave a penalty only for his linesman to over rule. The game could have been over when North End missed a couple of good chances shortly after and the game ran its course for a first round cup exit....full time Dundee North End 2 Fauldhouse United 0.
A lack lustre display from an unusually out of sorts United which will need to be addressed quickly before getting back to league business on Saturday.
