Report from the Dundee North End

Match Report:

This is the final game of a fantastic season for the Dokens, 2nd placed Kennoway Star Hearts lined up and clapped the Dokens on to the field in tribute to them winning the league last week, excellent touch by the home team... The game starts and KSH make it clear they are here to give it there best shot, with only 7 mins. on the clock a great move by them see's the ball skim past the outside of the post, now in the 21st minute KSH again were on the attack and a lobbed ball towards goal, it looked like it had dropped inside the goalmouth and hit the net, when in fact it hit the top...no goal, only one minute later Connor Mcleod chipped a pin point pass over to Reece Ritchie, in turn Reece crosses it back over the top of the out-stretched keeper and a KSH player was a bit unlucky as it struck him and ended up in the net...OWN GOAL!!!  KSH 0 DNE 1. Kennoway determined to make a go of this game showed real grit and determination after this goal and within 2 minutes of the Dokens scoring they were level, GOAL!!! 1-1. the game now wide open was going from end to end and Sam Shepherd was unlucky when his well hit shot screamed past the post, then back in the DNE half Kennoway were awarded a penalty after Barry Mcnaughton was deemed to have fouled inside the box... from the penalty GOAL!!! KSH 2 DNE 1. they say a team is most vulnerable after scoring a goal, well this was the case with both teams today...1 min after Kennoway taking the lead, North End were level! Scott McComiskie with a piece of personal magic skipped by a couple of players, flicked the ball over his own head then made a breath taking chipped pass to Connor McLeod who made no mistake with a headed goal...GOAL!! KSH 2 DNE 2 (Connor McLeod) Half Time:

Second Half:

Well in to the 2nd half Ben Sivewright made a wonderful run toward goal, he had the chance to shoot, but instead he lifted his head... surrounded by all the defenders and the keeper, he picked out Connor Mcleod who was left unmarked inside the box, He made no mistake with a tap in..GOAL!!! KSH 2 DNE 3 (Connor McLeod) KSH are now pushing for another equaliser, when disastour struck for the home side when Scott McComiskie lobbed the keeper after some neat work by Connor McLeod..GOAL!! KSH 2 DNE 4 (Scott McComiskie) Kennoway are now pushing high up the field, when the Dokens hit them with a counter attack, Joe Culquhoun is one on one with the keeper, he makes no mistake and scores from an angle GOAL!!! KSH 2 DNE 5 (Joe Culquhoun) Literally 1 min later KSH get another penalty after Mike Stewart (in the words of a KSH fan) Pole Axed the attacker!! but they blast well over the bar and the score stays the same...in the dying minutes of the game KSH are wide open as they gave a final push and Joe Culquhoun found himself in an identical position one on one with the keepr...and once again he made no mistake with a clinical finish..GOAL!! KSH 2 DNE 6 (Joe Culquhoun) The ref blew for full time not long after...FINAL SCORE Kennoway Star Hearts 2 Dundee North End 6 Scorers: Connor McLeod x 2 Joe Clquhoun x 2 Scott McComiskie x 1

Dave Martin (Manager) on the Kennoway Game:

I wanted to give some of the boys who have been on the fringes a run out today, they came on and did a great job as expected, it just shows we have a real strong pool, and when we play like we did today, we can beat anybody, I ve got to make sure they continue to progress for the jump to the premier league next season, hopefully I can add another couple of players and we should be ok.
