Report from Brechin Vics

League

Brechin Vics 0 East Craigie 0

Manager King as a result of injuries and holidays was without 6 players for this league meeting and had to reshape his side. East Craigie were first to threaten when a shot from 20 yards came back off the post and cleared to safety. The game was being played at pace with both sides using contrasting styles on a hard bumpy surface. Vics were trying to get the ball down and play their passing game while East Craigie were more direct. It took Vics a while to settle and it was the 24th min before they had their best chance of the game. Dunn  sent a 25 yard free kick crashing off the crossbar with the keeper well beaten. A good passing move on Vics right set Mckay down the line but his cut back was just out of the reach of the on rushing Steel.

Half time 0-0

The second half was very much a midfield battle with both sides cancelling one another out and chances were at a premium. Vics had a number of attempts from shots from long range from Henderson Dunn and Steel but neither had enough power to trouble the East Craigie keeper. Vics defence were kept on their toes with the direct approach of the opposition but they handled things competently and as a result keeper Robbie had no real saves of note to deal with. Both teams battled right to the end but neither were able to find that elusive goal
