Dalkeith extended their unbeaten league run to 6 matches with a disappointing 2-2 draw at Kirkcaldy.
The Jags were denied all three points by a battling display from the home side along with some inspired goal keeping.
In first half devoid of any regular goalmouth action the Jags were closest to opening the scoring on 15 minutes when Stephen Pusledzki saw his lobbed effort gathered by the home keeper. Further efforts from Jay Hunter and an audacious 40 yard effort from Darren Flynn which whistled past the post were the closest attempts before the home side broke the deadlock right on the stroke of halftime. A throw in right on the halfway line was flicked on and suddenly there was space for Elder to have a clear run in on goal and cooly slotting the ball past Combe.
The second half saw the Jags playing into the wind and they almost equalised in the first minute however Ness was alert to the danger, however the Jags were not to be denied and on 55 minutes drew level.
Darren Flynn was played in by Linton and, as he tried to go round the home keeper, he was brought crashing down. Stephen Pusledzki showed composure to send Ness the wrong way from the spot.
The Jags were dominating the match now and should have put the game to bed with great chances falling to McNaughton, Lally and Flynn, however, time after time they were thwarted by the frame of the home keeper.
With time running out the home side won a rare corner and Lieshman powered home a fine header to give his side an unlikely lead for the second time on 83 minutes.
The Jags came storming back though and equalised again almost straight from the kick off - the Jags won a corner of their own and Jay Hunter rose at the back post to head home.
Dalkeith threw everything at the home side in an attempt to get the winner and nearly snatched all three points with the last play of the match. The Jags had won another corner which was only partially cleared to the edge of the box where Thomas Waters controlled the ball on his chest before volleying it into the top corner, however, the referee had just blown for full time thus bringing the game to a controversial and somewhat disappointing conclusion.
