Report from the Dundee North End

This weeks game. Lochore Welfare v Dundee North End JFC @  Central Park, Crosshill, Fife.

Lochore Welfare 0 Dundee North End 2. Scorer: Connor McLeod x 1

The pitch was not in great shape which hampered both teams over the whole game, the two teams are matching each other in the first half with not much to note to be honest, they were cancelling each other out with some tasty challenges going in, 8 mins. before the interval Lochore had a shot in the top corner which was well saved by Dean Easton, it resulted in a corner which was beaten off the North End Line by the keeper then cleared away by Jo Colqhoun. Half Time 0-0

Second Half.

Much the same again in this half until the 60th minute when the ball was passed in to midfield, Barry McNaughton collected the ball and passed forward to Connor McLeod who cleverly beat the offside trap and knocked past the keeper...GOAL!!! 1-0 North End (Connor McLeod) North End now looked more in control and threatened the home side on numerous occasions, then in the 60th Min. North End defender Mark Deuchars was given a 2nd yellow card followed swiftly by a red for a challenge the referee deemed to be careless?? the Dokens now down to ten men kept battling away under a bit of pressure from the home side, Jo Colqhoun was again unlucky after sprinting forward, he beat off everyone in his path except the Lochore keeper who made a fantastic save to keep the scoreline at 1-0, in the dying seconds of the game the referee waved play on to a hand ball call from the central parkers, he then blew for full time and The Dokens again secured a precious 3 points which now puts them 21 points clear at the top of the table!!

Manager, Dave Martin, Comments: We might have been 3 up at half time, the pitch was not at it's best either, I thought we were unlucky on more than one occasion with decisions against us, We should have won by three or four goals, we had a man sent off but I dont think his challenge merited a sending off. However once again we showed our character and thats why we are at the top of the league...we are not playing brilliant but we're getting the results, overall I thought we were the best team on the day and deserved the win.
