The Jags kept their promotion push on track with a hard earned win at Jeanfield.
It was second vs fifth in this league encounter with the hosts 5 points ahead of Dalkeith and despite having three games in hand, a defeat would have give the Jags a mountain to climb in the hunt for a promotion spot.
Both sides tried to play some decent football with The Jags marginally having the upper hand in the first half.
Steven Pusledzki was first to threaten the Jeanfield goal with a lobbed effort which had the keeper at full stretch to keep out whlst at the other end Ross Combe gathered a low shot which was creeping inside his post. Jay Hunter looked to have given the Jags the lead but his stunning header from a Pusledzki corner flashed pst the upright.
The Jags hit the woodwork twice in the half, first with a Pusledzki effort and then with a Scott Main cross which was caught in the wind but at half time the game was stil goalless.
The goal that the Jags play deserved came on 55 mins when the Flynn won a corner. Pusledzki deleivered an inch perfect ball to the front post where Darren Flynn timed his run to perfection to bullet home a terrific header.
The goal seemed to give the Jeanfield a wake up call and they dominated play with Combe saving well on a number of occasions and Lally clearing a net bound effort on the line.
Jeanfield equalised on 67 minutes through a calamitous defending with the Jags players allowing the Jeanfield forward to nip the ball off Combe at the edge of the box and bundle the ball over the line.
As Dalkeith retreated into their shell the home side threw everything at the beleagured Jags, however, superbly marshalled by Jay Hunter they repelled all attacks. As the game aproached it's final 15 minutes The Jags started to find more space in the Jeanfield half and it looked like whoever scored ext would win the points.
That goal came with 5 minutes remaining. Dalkeith had a throw in on the halfway line which was helped on by David Morris to Darren Flynn whose knock down found Steven Pusledski. The striker tried a flick to Sean Lally this was blacked by a defender but the ball fell kindly into his path. The midfielder then picked out Scott Mcaughton with a slide rule pass and the substitute showed great composure to cut inside his man before passing the ball into the far corner and finding the net.
The home side tried to get back into the match in the remaining time but The Jags held firm to secure the points.
