Report from the Dalkeith Thistle

A controversial Stephen Pusledzki penalty 6 minutes from time was enough to give The Jags their third win in a row and keep their promotion push on track.

The Jags started this game well and playing with confidence followng recent results, however, the home side had a great chance in the 5th minute when their winger cliped the ball over the crossbar when it looked esier to score.

The Jags huffed and puffed with long range efforts from Lally, McNaughton, Morris and Pusledzki failing to trouble the home keeper. The home side looked dangerous on the break and probaly shaded the first half on chances created but again left Ross Combe relatively untroubled and the half petered out goaless.

Dalkeith looked more determined in the second half and most people in the crowd thought Darren Flynn was sure to score with his shot on the angle after an hour but the ball slid just past the post.

The home side clawed their way back into the match and Ross Come did well to get his fingertips to two similar eforts which he touched round the post.

With time running out the Jags had replaced McNaughton with Kevin Murray and the experienced midfield man lofted a pass which allowed Stephen Pusledzki a run in on goal with two defenders in close attendance. As the ball flew over their heads one of the defenders inexplicably swatted at it with his hand, the referee was well placed and pointed straight to the penalty spot then yellow carded the defender for the second time and followed it with a red.

Once the protests had died down Stephen Pusledzki ept his cool and sent the keeper the wong way from the spot and secure 3 hard earned points for The Jags.

Dalkeith: Combe, Gavin, Main, Hunter, Liddle, Linton, Morris, Lally, Flynn, Pusledzki, McNaughton. Subs: Murray, Taylor, Watters, Kesson
