Match Report

Once again a big shout out to our groundsmen Archie Grubb & Peter Sime, these two guys have worked wonders over the last month or so getting our home games on when 90% of other teams in our league have been off... This week seen another freshen up of the starting eleven as Davie Martin shows faith in the guys on the fringes, they did not dissapoint, after a fiery start North End were pressing hard and were awarded a corner, the ball came swirling in and eventually ended up in the path of Adam Stevenson (Tank) who gratefully took the opportunity and smashed the ball past the Vics keeper GOAL!! 1-0 DNE (Stevenson) Brechin were trying hard to create openings but the Dokens defence were dealing with everything thrown at them, and in the 19th minute and again from a corner North End scored there second, Darryl Gowans latched on to a spilled ball, he made space and slotted the ball past the keeper... GOAL!!! 2-0 North End (Gowans). The Dokens now with there tails up were pressuring the Vics at every opportunity and it wasn't long before goal number three came, after a great run down the right wing and a great cross in to the box, Scott McComiskie controlled the ball and smashed it in to the top of the net...GOAL!! 3-0 North End (McComiskie). Half Time score 3-0.

Second half underway and things are a bit scrappy with loose passes and mis-timed challenges, the Vics had a few half chances but it just wasn't going there way today, it took The Dokens 29 mins. in to the second half before they they onced again breached the Vics defence and scored goal number four, Sam simpson this time latched on to through ball, he calmly controlled the ball lifted his head and picked his spot...GOAL!! 4-0 North End (Simpson). At this point in the game Brechin Vics were not giving up they were still trying to break the Dokens defence down, they were extremley unlucky not to be awarded a penalty for a possible hand ball, but the ref waved play on. within minutes North End were again piling the pressure on from a corner, defender Johnathan Smart headered the cross down For Darryl Gowans to control, Jamie McCabe then came flying in and struck a sweet goalward bound shot, it hit a defender and landed right in the path of Sam Simpson who in turn hit the back of the net... GOAL!!  5-0 North End (Simpson) North End again flew down the wing and Reece Ritchie was unlucky when his well struck shot flew across goal and hit the inside of the goalpost and bounced back out, Robbie Shepherd was the first to react and poked the ball past the keeper to round of the goals for the day...GOAL!! 6-0 North End (Shepherd) Final Score.
