Report from Fauldhouse United

Cracking Performance.

The House finally played a full match against Kirriemuir Thistle after the last one was postponed at half-time due to a waterlogged park and put in a cracking performance which could have seen a lot more goals but for some better finishing and some good saves from keeper Stewart in the Kirrie goal. Fauldhouse showed their intentions early and went ahead in only three minutes when Mark Wilkins crossed the ball in to Chillton who looped his header over the head of Stewart and into the net... 1-0 The United . In the next attack one minute later the ever impressive Ross Donnelly struck a shot which sailed past Stewart....2-0 and cruising !  The big Kirrie keeper did well to make a good stop from Chilton in five minutes as the onslought continued after some great play from Shaun & Kenny Martin.  Kirrie had their first attempt at goal in eleven minutes but Andy Murphy was well up to Russells effort. Just under a quarter of the game gone and Mark Wilkins should have been on the scoresheet but he struck the ball just wide of the upright, shortly after striker Kenny Martin fired a shot past the post...one way traffic ! On the half hour Kenny turned provider and crossed to Ross Donnelly and his header brought out a a good save from Stewart. The visiting goalie had to look lively again to save from Gary Shanks ten minutes from the break. On the half time whistle Kirriemuir made a chance but Millars effort was well saved by Andy Murphy....Half Time.. Fauldhouse Utd. 2  Kirriemuir Th. 0. The second half got underway and we were treated to the same silky football from the House and in fifty minutes Shaun Martin cruised to the by-line and cut the ball back across the goal but Chilton failed to connect and the ball went through to Ross who unfortunatly slammed the ball past the post. On the hour mark Fauldhouse went further ahead when a Shaun Martin cross was met by Chilton his shot was parried out by Stewart to King Kenny Martin who slammed the ball in to the net...Fauldhouse Utd. 3 Kirriemuir Th. 0. United were well in control of the game at this point and went further ahead two minutes later when Donnelly fired home his second  of the day from 6 yards.... 4-0 United. Kenny Martin got himself a brace when he fired the ball past Stewart from a good ball from Chilton.... 5-0 the House. The scoring was completed with twenty minutes to go when Chillton stroked the ball home from close range... 6-0 Fauldhouse and thats how it finished. A game that could have produced double figures for United but you cant argue with a six goal mauling, Ross Donnelly again just shaded getting man of the match, if there is a better midfielder in the Premier i have still to see him !
