A set back for the "House"
Fauldhouse got off to a good start with Craig Chilton bringing out a save from Bruce on four minutes and for the next ten minutes we were comfortable enough on the ball but without punishing the Swifts defence with several chances created. United paid the price for not converting any chances coming their way when Holden for Swifts raced down the right wing and with Andy Murphy rushing out from his goal he side stepped him and rolled the ball into an empty net... Jeanfield 1 Fauldhouse 0. Andy was called on minutes later this time he came out tops with a last ditch save at the feet of one of the Jeanfield attackers. Our equaliser came from a corner kick, Rees Smith putting in a great cross and Kevin Ross scored with a flying header... Jeanfield 1 Fauldhouse 1. As you would have expected Jayson Alexander, who was with United early in the season and transfered to Jeanfield, scored with a looping header over Andy Murphy in goal to restore the home sides lead.... 2-1 Swifts. With thirty seven minutes gone Jeanfield added a third Reid their marksman this time converting for a 3-1 lead. Shortly after Kevin Ross was red carded for dissent but then with half time approaching Ross Donnelly scored a screamer of a goal finding the top right hand corner of the net giving the goalie no chance... Half Time Jeanfield Sw. 3 Fauldhouse Utd. 2. Fauldhouse started the second half like the first with Kenny Martin this time trying his luck with a shot. Mark Wilkins replaced an injured Clark Campbell on the hour mark as we pushed for the equaliser. Jason Deans went close when his looping shot was tipped over the bar. With about 10 minutes to go another set back Jason Deans was yellow carded for the second time and sent off giving us an uphill task for the closing stages. Things went from bad to worse when we went down to eight men, Rees Smith red carded this time. Kenny Martin went close with five minutes to go as the eight men were still in the game at this point to their credit but as time was running out Jeanfield made it 4-2 , but only a second league defeat this season it has to be said for United and a game to draw a line under and pick ourselves up for next week.
