Five Star Performance.
A top of the table encounter first against second which produced a cracking performance from the House. From the kick off Oakley attacked well and put us under some pressure never allowing us over the halfway line for the first ten minutes but the Hoose eventually got used to the uneven surface and began to take control off the game. The Oakley keeper Burgess had to look lively and made his first stop from Ross Donnelly in twelve minutes. Shortly after Fauldhouse took the lead when the industrious Ross Donnelly fired the ball in from close range 1-0 Fauldhouse. Next up a Shanksy free Kick came off the crossbar and Mikey McCormack was the first to react and stab the ball over the line 2-0 Fauldhouse and firing on all cylynders. Ten minutes from the break Ian Stewart made a cracking point blank save from Scarborough to stop Oakley getting back in the game. From an Oakley free kick just outside our 18yd box the kick was cleared out and up the park to Ross Donnelly he took the ball to the byeline and cut it back to Clark Campbell to fire home the third 3-0 Fauldhouse. five minutes from the interval Burgess made a gret save from a Ross Donnelly effort... Half time Oakley Utd. 0 Fauldhouse Utd. 3. Early on into the second half Burgess made another fine save this time from Mikey McCormack, ten minutes later Rees Smith sent the ball to Ross he squared the ball to McCormack who fired the ball past Burgess 4-0 Fauldhouse . The House were well on top and Burgess made another fine save from a Jamie Gallagher headed effort. Two minutes before the end Mikey McCormack turned provider crossing the ball to Rees Smith to bullet a collectors item of a header past Burgess for a final score of Oakley United 0 Fauldhouse United 5. A great result especially after last weeks defeat in the Scottish..what a way to bounce back !
