Fauldhouse came out the traps and took the lead in only two minutes in this first league game at Parkview for nearly a month when Craig Chilton latched on to a loose ball 20yards from goal and fired a stunning shot past Gray... 1-0 Fauldhouse. The House were well in command even this early on and in seven minutes Gary Shanks was unlucky when his curled effort hit the post. Eight minutes on the clock and United added a second when Chilli was upended in the box bearing down on goal, up stepped Gary Shanks to put the perfect penalty kick past Gray... 2-0  Fauldhouse. It was no surprise in fourteen minutes when Chilli fired home from ten yards to make the score  3-0 Fauldhouse, game over !  Kenny Martin was unlucky in thirty five minutes when his chipped effort went over the crossbar, minutes before the break Iain Stewart was called on to make a good save from McNeill. Just on half time the House scored a fourth goal, a Jason Deans header from a corner kick flying into the back of the Y.M. net...Half- Time.. Fauldhouse United 4 Kirkcaldy Y.M. 0.  Immediately from the kick off United went further ahead when Shanksy stroked the ball past Gray from the edge of the six yard box.. 5-0 Fauldhouse. As a contest this game waswell and truly over and manager Davey Cowan made some changes, Barry Nicholson, Shaun Martin and Michael McCormack all coming on. Kirkcaldy grabbed a goal back in the sixty third minute when their best outfield player Westwater was rewarded with a fine effort he latched on to a loose ball to fire past Iain Stewart from close in... 5-1 Fauldhouse. In to the last ten minutes and keeper Gray made a brilliant double save from Shanksy to deny the wee man his hat trick. The miss of the day came five minutes to go when big Jamie Gallagher beat the keeper only to slide the ball past the post. Just before the end Kenny Martin cut the ball back to Shanksy but his effort went just wide. Final score ..Fauldhouse United 5 Kirkcaldy Y.M. 1. A good solid performance from the House in preparation for next weeks encounter with Irvine Meadow in the Scottish Junior Cup.
