Gr"eight" Result from The Hoose.
The House went to Pumpherst Jnrs. expecting a hard game but returned with all three points scoring eight goals in to the bargain ! The goal spree got underway in only ten minutes when Mike Browne slipped the ball to Shanks to ram his shot past Gear in the Pumphy goal... 1-0 Fauldhouse. The House went close on eighteen minutes when a Gary Shanks free kick was touched just wide by Mark Wilkins . Just short of the half hour mark some good football between Wilkins and Chilton ended with Chilli firing narrowly wide of the post. The House went further ahead minutes later when Mikey McCormack crossed the ball to Shanksy the wee man brought the ball down superbly and slotted the ball past Gear...2-0 for Fauldhouse. Just after the re-start Chilli slipped the ball to Shanks and in typical fashion he cheekily chipped the ball over the keeper in to the net .... 3-0 Fauldhouse and on easy street ! Ten minutes from the break Mark Wilkins was through one on one with the Pumphy keeper Gear but the goalie made a vital touch to deny the wee man getting on the scoresheet. Pumphy got one back when Sam Scott made a silly challenge in the box resulting in a spot kick which resulted in Gordon Adam despatching the penalty past young Calum... Pumpherston 1 Fauldhouse 3. Forty two minutes on the clock and Clark Campbell chipped the ball over McMath and passed the ball to Chilton who rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home...4-1 United. With half time approaching Clark Campbell blasted the ball over the crossbar from five yards... Half Time... Pumpherston 1 Fauldhouse 4. The House started as they had finished before the break, Mark Wilkins played in Jamie Gallagher who fired past Gear from close...5-1 Fauldhouse. Mark Wilkins could have been on the scoresheet himself but a fine save from Gear prevented him from doing so and on the hour mark Kenny Martin fired the ball over the bar from fifteen yards. The Pumphy keeper was having his work cut out and had to save from Chilli in seventy three minutes to keep the score down. Two minutes later the maestro Shanksy chipped the ball over the keeper to make the score 6-1 to The House. Young Calum made a good save from a Mannifield 40yard strike and the ball was sent straight up the park to Gary Shanks who provided the perfect cross for Mike McCormack ... 7-1 Fauldhouse. As time was running out Shanksy was brought down in the box and Kenny Martin slammed the ball past Gear to round off the scoring for a final score ...Pumpherston 1 Fauldhouse Utd. 8. A fine performance from the House and outstanding performance from a slimline Shanksy, well done we man different class today !
