Three points in the bag !

The House bagged another three points as we look to climb up the table with a win against Montrose a sound first half performance to saw us closing down the early league leaders. Fauldhouse started brightly and Ross Donnelly was unlucky on fourteen minutes but his effort went narrowly wide of the upright. After quarter of an hour a good Shanks cut back to Chilton resulted with his shot being well saved by McLeod in the Roselea goal. United took the lead when Chilton latched on to a good knockdown and lashed the ball past McLeod... 1-0 Fauldhouse. One minute later Fauldhouse went further ahead when Ross Donnelly struck home a Mark Wilkins cross... 2-0 Fauldhouse . On the half hour mark Shanks put a good ball through to Mark Wilkins he found Clark Campbell running in and he tried to chip the keeper but his finger tips just took enough of the ball to prevent an almost pefrect finish to a good move. Two minutes later Montrose were back in the game pulling one back when static defending left the unmarked  Cruikshanks to slam the ball home from close in... 2-1 Fauldhouse and still plenty work to do. United kept pressing and a Chilton header went wide after a good cross from Jason Deans, and ten minutes from the interval as we pressed on McLeod made a good save from a Mark Wilkins Header...Half-time Fauldhouse Utd. 2  Montrose Roslea 1. The second half got underway and the House were unlucky not to go further ahead in the first minute when a Shanksy shot was stopped and cleared off the line and away.  After such a good first half performance the Hoose suddenly started to misplace passes and give the ball away far to easily and proceeded to let the away side back in to the game. Montrose could not cash in and the House got their game back together and five minutes to go McLeod had to look lively and make a good save from Shanksy, but he was just putting off the inevitable with one minute to go Shanks slipped a great ball to Ross Donnelly to fire home our third and finish off Montose... 3-1 Fauldhouse.  Just on full time Mcleod made a good save from a Barry Nicholson free kick and the game finished... Fauldhouse United 3 Montrose Roselea 1.   A good performance against a gutsy Roselea who belie their league position at present.
